My career in real estate began here in Arizona back in 2005 when I took an apprenticeship with a residential real estate appraisal firm. It was the height of the AZ real estate boom and an incredibly exciting time to join this fascinating new (new to me anyway) industry. I had no idea how much there was to learn about determining the value of a home. From that experience, I gained an understanding of—and insights into—all facets of the residential valuation process. From calculating square footage and determining the market value of a private swimming pool, to identifying the differences in market trends between two neighborhoods located across the street from each other, I developed a base of knowledge that would serve me throughout my career.
I’ve been a practicing Realtor® for over a decade. I obtained my real estate sales license in 2011 in the wake of the unprecedented market crash just three years before. With property values at an all-time low, I initially questioned whether this was the best time to start “selling homes”. But thanks to the guidance of a trusted mentor, I jumped in with both feet! During our first year in business together, my business partner and I helped close more than 150 transactions! Each of them presented a new challenge in one way or another. Bank-owned (REO) properties, short sales, and pre-foreclosures were more the rule than the exception. It was hard work, but we helped so many first-time investors build their portfolios, creating a safer, more stable (and recession-proof) future for themselves and their families. And with homes at historically low prices, we assisted dozens of families achieve the dream of homeownership—many of whom would have never had that opportunity.
Since those early days, the market has done all sorts of twists and turns, but the goal for me is the same: to help people find their way home.
As a Realtor®, I’ve been given the opportunity to connect with people of diverse backgrounds and life experiences, explore our common ground, and guide them from “where they are now” to “where they want to be”. I honestly can’t imagine a more rewarding career!
